Transit times exclude port clearance and inland haulage, both of which can add materially. Build realistic buffer into your reorder point — running a plant to the last pallet on a 14-day ocean route is a risk.
Why solid PAC for East Africa
For East African destinations we almost always recommend spray-dried PAC powder in 25 kg bags rather than liquid. The reason is simple freight arithmetic: a container of powder delivers roughly three times the active alumina of a container of liquid, and on a route with ocean freight plus several hundred kilometres of inland haulage, paying to move water is expensive.
Powder also survives the journey better. Containers sit in the sun at Mombasa and Dar es Salaam, and inland transit can add weeks. Sealed bags of powder handle that far better than IBCs of solution, which are also awkward to move on poor roads and difficult to return.
The trade-off is that your plant needs a make-up tank, an agitator and a trained operator. For most municipal water boards and industrial plants in the region that infrastructure already exists.

Common questions
Yes. We ship container loads from Jebel Ali to Mombasa, typically 10 to 14 days in transit, for onward road or rail delivery to Nairobi and upcountry destinations.
Powder, in almost every case. A container of powder carries around three times the active alumina of a container of liquid, which matters enormously when you are paying ocean freight plus inland haulage.
One 20ft container, approximately 27 tonnes of solid PAC. Smaller volumes can occasionally be consolidated — ask what is currently loading.
First orders are typically against advance payment or a confirmed Letter of Credit. Established repeat buyers can discuss alternative terms after trade references.
