No make-up, no dust
Solid PAC has to be dissolved before it can be dosed, which means a make-up tank, a mixer, an operator, and a dust exposure risk during bag handling. Liquid PAC goes straight from the IBC to the dosing pump.

Store between 5°C and 40°C, out of direct sunlight. Use HDPE, FRP, PVC or rubber-lined steel. Do not store in bare mild steel or aluminium.
Small and mid-size plants
For plants dosing under roughly 5 tonnes of product a month, liquid almost always works out cheaper once you count the labour and equipment that solid PAC needs on site.
Long-haul and high volume
Liquid PAC is about 88% water by weight, so you pay freight on water. Over long export distances, or at high consumption, solid becomes the cheaper delivered form.
Liquid or solid: the honest comparison
The comparison people get wrong is price per tonne. A tonne of liquid PAC contains roughly one third of the active alumina of a tonne of solid PAC, so a liquid price that looks dramatically lower usually is not. Compare on cost per kilogram of Al2O3 delivered to your site, then add the on-site handling cost.
Freight is the deciding factor at distance. Shipping liquid from Dubai to an inland African site means paying ocean and road freight on mostly water, and the IBC itself is bulky. For those destinations we normally recommend solid PAC in 25 kg bags and a modest make-up system at the plant.
Within the UAE the calculation flips. Road freight is short and cheap, labour to run a make-up tank is not, and the space for a mixing station often does not exist on a compact plant. Most of our UAE clients under 5 tonnes a month use liquid.

Common questions
1200 kg IBC totes, 250 kg HDPE drums, and bulk road tanker for larger UAE deliveries. IBCs are the most common format for plants dosing a few tonnes a month.
Approximately six months in sealed original packaging stored between 5°C and 40°C, away from direct sunlight. Extended storage in UAE summer conditions can cause gradual polymerisation and haze.
It can, but dilute only with clean water and use the diluted solution promptly. Diluted PAC is less stable than the concentrate and should not be stored for long periods.
For regular UAE customers we operate an IBC exchange on repeat deliveries. Terms depend on delivery frequency and tote condition.
