Desalination and industry
Oman's water sector combines coastal desalination, expanding municipal networks and the industrial clusters at Sohar and Duqm — all of which need consistent coagulant supply.
Export — Oman
Oman is one of our shortest and most reliable export routes — overland through Hatta or Al Ain in under a day, or by sea to Sohar and Salalah for full container loads.
| Route | Mode | Indicative transit | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai → Hatta → Muscat | Road, FTL | 1–2 days | Muscat, Barka, Nizwa — fastest option |
| Dubai → Al Ain / Buraimi → Sohar | Road, FTL | 1 day | Sohar industrial port area |
| Jebel Ali → Sohar | Sea, container | 2–4 days | Full container loads into Sohar Free Zone |
| Jebel Ali → Salalah | Sea, container | 5–8 days | Dhofar region and onward transhipment |
Overland is usually both faster and cheaper for Oman. Sea freight makes sense mainly for full container loads landing directly into Sohar or Salalah free zones.

A truck leaving Dubai in the morning can be at a Sohar site the same day. For a plant running low, no sea route competes with that.
GCC-origin goods generally move under the customs union with preferential treatment. Documentation is prepared before the truck leaves.
The first question is always lead time, and it is the right question. Oman's advantage over other export markets is that a genuine emergency replenishment is possible — an overland truck reaches most of northern Oman within a day of dispatch.
The second is packaging. Sites in Oman split fairly evenly between 25 kg bags for smaller plants and jumbo bags for larger municipal facilities. We quote both, and it is worth checking your unloading capability before deciding — a jumbo bag needs a forklift or crane at the receiving end.
The third is continuity. Buyers who have been let down before want to know what happens when a shipment slips. Our answer is that we tell you the day we know, not the week the delivery was due — and where the timing genuinely matters, we hold buffer stock in Dubai against a scheduled call-off.
