PAC for swimming pool water treatment
Pool operators and FM contractors across the UAE use PAC as a clarifier — it catches the sub-micron particles that make water look milky and that a sand filter alone will never remove.
Why pools go cloudy and what PAC does
Cloudy pool water is almost always sub-micron particulate — dead algae, fine dust, body oils, sunscreen residue and organic debris. A standard sand filter catches particles down to roughly 20 to 40 microns, so most of what causes cloudiness passes straight through and back into the pool.
PAC aggregates those fine particles into floc large enough for the filter to capture. That is the whole mechanism: it does not kill anything and it does not replace chlorine. It makes invisible particles filterable.
In UAE conditions this matters more than in temperate climates. High dust load, heavy bather load, and high evaporation concentrating dissolved solids all push pools toward cloudiness faster than the filter alone can correct.

How to use it correctly
Filter mode matters
Run the filter for clarification dosing. For heavy floc-and-vacuum treatment, switch to recirculate and let floc settle overnight.
Vacuum to waste
After settling, vacuum the settled floc directly to waste — not through the filter, or you put it straight back in.
Check pH first
PAC works best between pH 7.2 and 7.6, which is your normal pool operating range anyway. Correct pH before dosing.
Backwash after
Filter loading rises sharply after a clarifier dose. Backwash once pressure climbs.
Do not overdose
Excess PAC can itself cloud the water and depress pH. More is not faster here.
